Replacement window process york paHaving a professional install replacement windows and doors is not rocket science. We like to keep the process as simple as possible.

We also want to make sure that all of our customers have a good experience. Our process is designed to make sure you’re comfortable from the time you first call for an estimate, until the time we call you to follow up on our completed window and door installation.

We are also one of the very few window and door installation companies that offer a non-sales approach when it comes to in-home consultations. Most companies send a salesperson to your home to do the free consultation. We never sell during the consultation at all.


Our Replacement Window Process

Installing new replacement windows is relatively painless and simple. Here’s the exact process you’ll experience with us!

Step 1: Contacting us Initially

You may be searching for replacement windows in Google and find us, hear about us on Facebook or your neighbor might refer us. Either way, let’s say you decide to contact us via phone call or email. What’s to expect?

Once you contact us we’ll gather a few pieces of information such as:

  • What’s your location?
  • What is the product and service description you’re searching for? A common answer would be, “I have seven double hung windows I need replacing, with grids and ½ screens”. Another answer might not be as specific. A more vague answer would be “I have two doors and one window, and I don’t know the type. I also need help with recommendations”
  • Finally, what’s a good time we can come out to discuss the details in person?

During this initial phone conversation, we typically won’t be able to provide you with a price. If we can’t give you a price we’ll schedule a time to come out and discuss more details. We will provide you with a quote within 48 hours after the appointment

If we are able to provide you with a price over the phone then we will schedule a time during the initial call to come out, take final measurements and sign the necessary paperwork to proceed with the order.

Step 2: The Free Consultation

Many people aren’t sure of the type of window or door, they don’t know their options and they don’t even know what they want. They just know it’s time for an update.

If this is you, great! We’ve scheduled a free consultation and now we’re on our way to your home. What’s to expect?

During this free consultation, we’ll typically be in your home for about 30 minutes to one hour depending on how many windows and (or) doors you’ll need. We may also be there longer depending on the complexity of the situation.

We’ll use our expertise to talk to you about all of your options when it comes to choosing the proper windows and doors. In many situations, our suggestions save the customer thousands of dollars, provide a better product and everyone is happy!

We’ll also need to take measurements of your windows and doors so we will need to be inside of your home.


Earlier we said we like the entire process to be comfortable. Hard pressure selling is not comfortable and we do NOT hard sell. We simply come out to your home, ask questions about your needs, guide you in a proper direction depending on your needs and budget, and we provide you with a quote via email within 48 hours.

Step 3: Before the Installation

After the free consultation, we will provide you with a quote via email within 48 hours. If you do decide to choose us, great! There are a few items we need before we start:

  • We require a 50% deposit before the project starts
  • Proper paperwork will need to be signed by you

Once we receive the necessary items we will place the custom order with our manufacturer. The windows will arrive in about 15 days.

We typically install the windows the same week they are delivered to our facility. So, from the time you provide the necessary items, we can have the windows installed within 3 weeks!

Step 4: Installing the Windows & Doors

After we receive the order we will contact you to schedule a time to install the windows. We want to work our job into your schedule!

On the agreed, upon date and time, the installer(s) will arrive promptly, ready to work. We would GREATLY appreciate if you had any furniture out of harm’s way. In most instances, we WILL need to move furniture if it’s blocking the window or door.

All of our installers use tarps, drop cloths etc. to ensure your home is as clean after the installation as you left it!

Step 5: After the Installation

After the installation, you will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy your new windows and doors.

We will call you to verify that everything was successful and that you’re happy with our services. We will also call you to ask for a review. Positive reviews on the web are one of the most effective ways to grow our business and we REALLY appreciate your positive feedback.
