Bow Windows

Are you lucky enough to have a beautiful view from your home? Installing bow windows should be a no-brainer!

Bow windows are slightly different than bay windows. Although the name and shape are similar, bow windows typically have 4 or more windows, with a rounded projection at a 10-degree angle (see image).

However, just like our bay windows, the bow windows come together to form one unit. The projection and visibility are a very popular window for many homes in the York, Pa, and south-central Pa area. Many homes in the Susquehanna Valley are located in scenic areas with beautiful views, which make the bow windows an obvious choice.

If you are interested in replacing your bow window, the replacement windows from Susquehanna Valley Door and Window is the best possible choice. We offer a variety of features, add-ons, and extras.

Energy Star Rated Windows

Besides low-e glass we also offer ENERGY STAR rated windows to our customers! Windows that are energy star certified pass the independently tested and verified energy performance ratings. In order to be considered an energy star rated window, the window must pass specific performance ratings, which include:

U- Factors

Which measures the rate of heat transfer and tells you how well the window insulates.

Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC)

The SHGC measures the fraction of solar energy which is transmitted and tells you how well the window will block any heat that’s caused by sunlight.

Air Leakage

This is pretty obvious. Air Leakage measures the rate at which air passes through a joint in the window.

Visible Transmittance (VT)

VT will measure the amount of light that a window will pass through.

Condensation Resistance

This test tells you how well the window will resist against water build up.
